Funess Toronto is a Toronto-based independent news organization. In order to enhance and perfect the branding and marketing plans, the organization committed me to design a set of visual designs that can show their personality and can keep used for branding on any occasion.
The main purpose of this organization is to deliver the latest local news and events to young Toronto locals who can speak and read Mandarin. Therefore, the targeting audience is one key factor for the design concept. With this in mind, the design should be visually appealing and communicate the concept of fun.
There are two challenges I was facing during the design process:
Let Funess have a distinguished visual branding from other similar local news organizations while meeting the marketing goals.
The design also needs to fit with the taste of young people.
Throughout the brainstorming phase, I spend a lot of time communicating with the client about the ideas and concepts, to ensure we were on the correct route.
Here are some planned solutions:
Use less than three colours to emphasize a strong colour contrast.
They use strong lines in all productions.
Design a cartoon figure to serve as an element of the company's branding.
In the end, I created various digital and print marketing materials, including a logo, business card, poster, retractable banner, stickers, and a mic logo flag.
